Bulgarian PM to Discuss Energy, Economy on Russia Visit - Foreign Min

Bulgaria's foreign minister Ekaterina Zaharieva said on Friday that prime minister Boyko Borissov will visit Russia on May 30, where he will discuss possible cooperation in energy projects with president Vladimir Putin and prime minister Dmitry Medvedev. The topics which will be discussed during the meeting include gas supplies, tourism and global issues such as the nuclear deal with Iran, Zaharieva said in an interview with public TV channel BNT. Borissov's visit to Russia is not an urgent development, it has been coordinated for a long time, as Borissov talked with Putin over the phone two months ago, Zaharieva added. The announcement comes shortly after Bulgaria's government asked parliament last week for a mandate for talks with potential strategic investors in a project for completion of the construction of a second nuclear power plant in the country and submitted a report on the options for revival of the unfinshed project drafted by the energy ministry.
