The Bulgarian government will do everything possible to start construction of the Hemus Highway by 2014, said PM Boyko Borisov.
Borisov was speaking during a visit to Port Varna-West on the Bulgarian northern Black Sea coast, accompanied by Minister of Finance Simeon Dyankov, reported BGNES.
He reiterated promises that the Trakiya Highway, connecting Sofia with Burgas on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, will be completed by mid-2012.
Recently Borisov's cabinet revived the idea for building the frozen Hemus Highway, set to connect capital Sofia with Varna on the northern Black Sea coast. The idea is that money from the European Regional Development Fund be used for the project.
