Bulgarian Parliament Unanimously Supports Advancement of Bulgaria-China Relations

Representatives of the various political formations in the Bulgarian Parliament are unanimous in their support for the development and advancement of Bulgaria-China relations. National Assembly Chair Tsetska Tsacheva and Sun Zhengcai, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Chongqing Communist Party Secretary, rallied behind the idea, meeting here on Wednesday.
Sun is paying a visit here between March 31 and April 2.
Tsacheva voiced satisfaction with the intense political dialogue which is an indication of the priority that Bulgaria attaches to its relations with China. Tsacheva extended an invitation for a delegation of the National People's Congress of China to visit Bulgaria.
Sun voiced satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations and cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries, noting stepped up exchange in trade, economy and culture.
Bulgaria views cooperation within the 16+1 initiative between China and Central and Eastern European countries as an important platform for furthering bilateral relations with China in all areas and as complementary to the strategic partnership between the EU and China, Tsacheva said. For his part Sun noted that Bulgaria plays an important role in the initiative and that every beginning is difficult, but the implementation of the project would be beneficial to all parties.
