Bulgarian ECVP Kristalina Georgieva Attended Economic Discussion in Sofia (ROUNDUP)

Seventh national discussion within the Yes! to Bulgarian Economy campaign - European Bulgaria – Stability and Growth, was held at the Hotel Marinela Sofia in the Bulgarian capital city on Monday.
The event was attended by European Commission Vice President for the Budget and Human Resources Kristalina Georgieva and members of the Bulgarian government, including Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
“Thanks to what the Prime Minister did we have political stability that develops into economy,” said European Commission Vice President for the Budget and Human Resources Kristalina Georgieva speaking at the forum.
“People here did miracles for the EU funds absorption,” Ms Georgieva remarked.
In her words, since February until now Bulgaria has been ranked second in terms of EU funds absorption.
“Bulgaria turned to be better prepared for what many countries in Europe are now shaken by – the refugee crisis,” the Vice President of the European Commission pointed out.
According to Ms Georgieva, the European economy is slowly but consistently recovering and up to 2.1% growth is expected by 2019.
