Bulgarian-Czech Tie-up Files Lowest Bid for Sofia Underground Extension

A consortium comprising two local and one Czech companies placed the lowest bid, of 42.35 million levs ($29.36 million/ 21.65 million euro), for the construction of a 1.3-kilometre extension of Sofia’s underground, news portal infrastructure.bg reported. 
Six bids were filed for the construction works, the website reported. The operator of the Sofia underground, Metropolitan, has still not announced officially their parameters.
The consortium, which filed the lowest bid, consists of Bulgarian-registered Stanilov and GP Group, and Czech Metroprojekt Praha. Their subcontractor is Start Engineering.
The project is co-financed by EU funds.
