Bulgarian-Chinese Joint Venture to Operate Industrial Zone near Bouzhourishte

Visiting China between September 8 and 14, Bulgarian Deputy Economy, Energy and Tourism  Minister Evgeni Angelov reached agreement with Zhejiang Province Governor Lu Zushan and Vice Governor Gong Zheng on the establishment of a joint venture to operate a future industrial zone which is to be built shortly near Bouzhourishte (3 km west of Sofia), Angelov's Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday. The Deputy Director of Zhejiang's largest business zone also took part in the meeting.

It emerged during the talks that representatives of Zhejiang Province will arrive in Sofia to share in the design of the Bozhourishte Industrial Zone. A land tract of some 200 ha for the zone has already been provided to the Ministry of Economy,Energy and Tourism. Nearly one-third of that area is reserved for Chinese companies. The Bulgarian partner will be the National Company Industrial Zones PLC. The Chinese side will designate shortly its participant in the project.
