Bulgaria's July business sentiment index rose by 1.4 percentage points from June, after dropping by 1.2 percentage points in the previous month, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said.
In July, the construction sub-index fell by 1.0 percentage point from June, due to a more negative assessment of the current business situation. Overall, managers expect no change in prices over the following three months.
In July, the retail sub-index lost 0.5 percentage points from a month earlier, as managers were more pessimistic about the development of the sector over the next six months. The uncertain economic situation and low demand remain the main problems for the retail business.
The index gauging the business climate in the services sector gained 4.0 percentage points from June, due to the managers' more positive assessments of the present business situation. Overall, managers expect no change in prices in the next three months.
The July industry sub-index rose by 2.3 percentage points from the previous month, due to the managers' positive assessment of the sector. They continue to perceive the economic situation as uncertain, but expect no change in prices over the following three months.
