Bulgarian Ambassador to Israel Slated for Deputy Minister

Bulgaria's new Deputy Foreign Minister will be the current Ambassador to Israel, Dimitar Tsanchev, according to the Bulgarian daily "Trud" (Labor), citing own sources.

Before going to Israel, Tsanchev was the Foreign Ministry spokesperson during the term of the previous coalition cabinet and of Minister, Ivaylo Kalfin, from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).

The Tel Aviv post will be taken by Yuriy Shterk, Political Director at the Foreign Ministry, also a career diplomat with long-term experience.
