Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Bulgarian municipalities launches a billboard campaign aiming to encourage the inter-country tourism. The campaign will cover all bigger municipalities and will advertise the tourism opportunities in the regions, the press office of the Ministry of Tourism announced.
The advertising boards will be placed at central locations, as one municipality will advertise the tourism in another one. The focus will be put on the cultural-historical and other emblematic sights.
The Ministry of Tourism undertakes the engagement to work out more than 40 billboards, while the municipalities will provide free advertising space at key locations for a time period of 6 months.
The campaign has been already started, while the billboards will be gradually placed in 11 big municipalities, which are, as follows – Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Haskovo, Vidin, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas, Kardzhali, Gabrovo, Montana and Pernik. Later on in the frames of the campaign more municipalities will be added to the list.
The initiative is first of its kind and it is a natural continuation of the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism to encourage the inter-country tourism and the popularisation of the year-round tourism opportunities in Bulgaria.
The major purpose of the campaign is to increase Bulgarians’ awareness about the country and to make the national tourist product more varied. It also reinforces the results achieved by the project themed Communication Campaign for Encouragement of the Inter-country Tourism, which was finalised.
In January-October 2015 the number of the night-stays of Bulgarian tourists within the country topped 7 million, which is some 6.2% increase compared with the same period in 2014.
