Bulgaria to support tour operators, travel agents with measures worth 28.6 mln euro

Bulgaria's government said on Wednesday that it will support local tour operators and travel agents through measures worth 56 million levs ($34.9 million/28.6 million euro).

Tour operators and travel agents will get grants equal to 4% of their turnover in 2019 so that they can refund prepaid trips which were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the government said in a statement.

The grants will totall 51 million levs.

Another 5 million levs will be used to subsidise tourist charter flights to Bulgaria for two years after the end of the state of emergency over the coronavirus pandemic.
