Bulgarian Government approved the draft agreement between the Ministry of Tourism and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on the organisation of the International Congress on World Civilizations and Creative Tourism, the press office of the cabinet announced.
The forum will be held in the capital city Sofia from November 29 until December 1, 2016.
The major purpose of the event is to highlight the connection between creative tourism and the world civilisations as a tendency at the international market. The participants will also examine how science and technologies contribute to the overall experience of a tourist visiting certain destination.
157 ministers in charge of tourism in the World Tourism Organization member states are invited to take part in the congress.
Organising an event of such a big scale will contribute to popularising Bulgaria as an attractive tourism destination with huge opportunities for cultural heritage tourism.
