Bulgaria To Join Talks on EU Fiscal Pact

Bulgaria's Parliament gave the green light to the country's participation in the talks on an EU treaty for tighter fiscal discipline and its signing the pact under certain conditions.

Bulgaria's participation in the fiscal pact should not entail financial obligations or commitments for the alignment of Bulgaria's tax policy with the other signatories, Parliament said in a statement.

Bulgaria will start applying the pact in its entirety upon its accession to the eurozone, the statement added.

A total of 129 MPs voted in favour of the decision, one was against and 48 abstained.
