Bulgaria plans to invest over 50 million levs ($28.2 million/25.5 million euro) in a new road that will connect a rapidly expanding industrial zone near Sofia to the border with Serbia, prime minister Boyko Borissov said on Thursday. The planned bypass in Bozhurishte, in the western outskirts of Sofia, will connect the Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Zone to the future Europe motorway leading to Kalotina crossing at the border with Serbia, Borissov said in a video file posted on his Facebook page. The road construction project has already been drafted and works must start as soon as possible as several big investors have expressed interest in entering the Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Zone, Borissov said. The 48-km Europe motorway that will link Sofia to Kalotina checkpoint is currently under construction.
