Bulgaria to hold presidential elections on Nov 14

Bulgaria will vote for president on November 14, the parliament decided on Thursday.

A total of 152 MPs in the 240-seat National Assembly supported the decision, no MPs opposed it, while 25 lawmakers abstained in the vote broadcast live by public television BNT.

Earlier this year, president Rumen Radev said that he would run for a second five-year term of office. His current term will expire in January 2022.

Radev, backed by the Socialist party, was elected in late 2016. His inauguration took place on January 22, 2017.
