Bulgaria to Consult Cuba About State Companies’ Restructuring

Cuba wants Bulgarian experts to consult the country over the process of state companies’ restructuring. The news broke at the meeting between Bulgarian Minister of Economy Bozhidar Lukarski and Deputy Chairperson of Cuban Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy Marino Murillo held in the frames of Bulgarian delegation’s visit to Havana, the press office of the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy announced.
The Cuban minister introduced his Bulgarian counterpart to the project for revision of the economic model and the programme of the Cuban government for gradual reforms in the country.
The reforms envisage higher independence for the private sector and restructuring of the state-run companies in an attempt to achieve better efficiency.
Bulgarian Minister Lukarski, on the other hand, presented Bulgaria’s experience in the restructuring and privatisation of the state sector.
