Bulgaria will call tenders for the construction of several highway sections and regional roads financed under the European Union's Operational Programme Transport (OPT) in September, the regional development ministry said on Friday.
The government plans to call tenders for two sections of the Struma highway that links Sofia with the country's border with Greece, and for two stretches of the Maritsa highway that links Sofia with the border with Turkey, the ministry said in a statement.
The Struma highway is part of Pan-European transport corridor 4. The Maritsa highway is also part of corridor 4 and of the Trans-European Motorway (TEM).
