Bulgaria decided to award two separate concessions for the Sofia and Balchik airports, transport minister Ivaylo Moskovski said.
The coastal airport of Balchik has already attracted definite interest from potential Qatar-based investors, who are expected to visit the country in May, state-run Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) quoted Moskovski as saying on Thursday.
As for the Sofia Airport, analyses and procedures for selecting a future concessionaire are underway, he added.
Earlier this month, Moskovski said Bulgaria plans to open a tender to award a concession for the Sofia Airport in six months, as the scope of the contract may be expanded to include the Balchik airport as well. He, however, specified that this decision was not final.
