Bulgaria will launch an audit of the local pharmaceutical market, health minister Stefan Konstantinov said on Wednesday, a day after his deputy in charge of coordinating the government policy on medical equipment and drugs was dismissed.
The formation of the prices of all drugs which are higher in Bulgaria than in neighboring countries will be investigated, the state-run Bulgarian National Radio quoted Stefan Konstantinov as saying.
Apart from the reasons behind the different retail prices on the domestic and foreign markets, the audit will also find out the market shares of all pharmaceutical companies, business website Dnevnik.bg reported.
