Bulgaria aims to achieve economic growth of 2.0% this year, the country's economy minister said.
In 2013 Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by a real 0.9%.
The 2014 state budget projects real economic growth at 1.8%.
"[...] we should also think about improving the investment climate in the country, as our ambition is to have 2.0% economic growth in 2014 ," Dragomir Stoynev said during question time in parliament.
In the first two months of 2014 foreign direct investment (FDI) in Bulgaria totaled 114.1 million euro, equivalent to 0.3% of the projected GDP, compared to 223.3 million euro in the like period a year earlier. In 2013 Bulgaria attracted 1.23 billion euro in FDI, down from 1.48 billion euro a year earlier.
