A team of the World Economic Forum presented The Global Competitiveness Report 2011 - 2012 of 142 economies around the globe. Bulgaria is three places down, from number 71 to 74. The reasons - worsening of the ranking, regarding: effectiveness of stock markets, technological readiness, level of business development, infrastructure, innovations.
At the same time there is an improvement at institutions, finance markets, labor market's effectiveness, education and qualification.
Bulgaria spent a long time at the bottom of the EU, but now Romania /10 places down/ and Greece /90th position/ are behind it. In 2011 this country has better positions in 4 spheres - finance markets, institutions, labor market, education and qualification.
Bulgaria has advantage, regarding investors' protection, legal rights and access to credits, while regulations on securities and their trade remain a burden.
