The municipalities of Vratsa and Mezdra, in northwestern Bulgaria, will build a 5.8 million levs composting facility for biodegradable waste, which will be co-financed by EU funds, the environment ministry said on Monday. The project will benefit from a 4.4 million levs EU grant under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2019, the ministry said in a statement. The installation will have an annual capacity of 8,000 t. and will service 81,000 residents. The project is expected to be completed within 19 months.
