Bulgaria's Vestitel To Build Fiber Optic Network Connecting Bulgaria, Greece

Bulgarian telecommunications provider Vestitel, a subsidiary of gas retailer Overgas, has started building a fiber optic network connecting Sofia with Thessaloniki and Athens, its parent company said.
The network is expected to be operational within five months, Overgas said in a press release without disclosing the value of the project.
 “With this project Vestitel's main objective to provide Leased lines, EVPLs,  wavelengths as well as IP transit services at very competitive prices while maintaining the highest service quality will be easily accomplished,” the company said.
The new fiber optic network, which combines with the existing one, will make possible the safe and relieable transfer of data between the two countries, it added.
