Bulgaria's TPP Maritsa 3 Boosts H1 Cons Net Profit on Lower Expenses

The consolidated net profit of Bulgarian thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa 3 rose to 6.3 million levs ($3.7 million/3.2 million euro) in the first half of 2018 from 4.9 million levs in the same period of last year, as the plant's expenses nearly halved, its operator said on Tuesday. The TPP's operating expenses declined to 3.4 million levs in the first six months of the year from 6.3 million levs in the corresponding period of 2017, following a decline in expenses for materials, figures from TPP Maritsa 3's interim financial statement showed. TPP Maritsa 3's expenses for materials amounted to 310,000 levs in the review period, down from 3.2 million levs the year before. The plant's total operating revenue fell to 9.8 million levs in January-June from 11.2 million levs in the prior-year period. TPP Maritsa 3 is located in the town of Dimitrovgrad, in southern Bulgaria
