Bulgaria's St Nikola Wind Farm Extends Unplanned Outage Further

Bulgaria's largest wind farm - the 156 MW Saint Nikola, operated by AES Geo Energy - has extended the duration of its unplanned outage for a third time, to February 6, the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) said on Friday. The problem was initially planned to be resolved by January 21.The Saint Nikola wind farm is located near the town of Kavarna, on the Black Sea coast, and consists of 52 turbines of 3 MW each. It was built in 2009 and commenced operations in 2010.The wind farm produced 318 GWh of electricity in 2018, down from 353 GWh in 2017.
