Bulgaria's Sofiyska Voda Opens 10.4 Mln Euro Emergency Maintenance Tender

The water utility company serving the Bulgarian capital Sofia - Sofiyska Voda, said on Friday that it has opened a 20.4 million levs ($11.8 million/10.4 million euro) tender for a two-year contract for emergency maintenance of the city's water supply network.The contractor will be obliged to provide 24-hour emergency maintenance services regarding around 30% of Sofia's water supply network, Sofiyska Voda said in a tender notice.The term of the contract can be subsequently extended by up to one year if both parties agree to do so.The deadline for submitting offers is February 28.Bids will be ranked solely based on price.Sofiyska Voda was established in October 2000 under a 25-year concession contract for the operation and maintenance of Sofia's water supply and sewerage system. France's Veolia Water owns 77.1% of the company's capital, while the Sofia municipality holds a stake of 22.9%, according to data from Sofiyska Voda's website.
