The average monthly salary in Bulgaria rose by 3.2% month-on-month to 768 levs ($500/393 euro) in September, data issued by the country's statistics office showed.
In the third quarter of 2012 the average monthly salary totalled 754 levs, up by 8.8% compared to a year earlier, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said in a statement on Thursday.
In the July-September period, the average salary in the public sector grew by an annual 5.0%, while in the private sector it was up by 10.4%.
The highest annual increase for the average monthly salary in the third quarter, by 19.1%, was registered in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector, followed by the wholesale and retail trade where monthly wages rose by 18.3% on the year.
