Bulgaria's revenue from tourist overnights rises 2.6% y/y in June

The revenue from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria in June increased by 2.6% on the year to 205.4 million levs ($117.4 million/105.0 million euro), the country's statistical office said on Monday. Revenues from overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists increased by 17.9% year-on-year in June, while revenues from overnights of foreign nationals edged down by 0.5%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.The total number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria decreased by 0.7% to 4.0 million in June.The largest decrease in the number of overnights, by 4.0%, was registered by four- and five-star hotels which reported 30.3% of total overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists and 64.0% of the overnights of international visitors.A total of 1.02 million tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in June, up 4.0% year-on-year.
