Bulgaria's Q2 Labour Costs Grow 8.5% y/y

Hourly labour costs in Bulgaria rose by 8.5% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2018, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday, citing preliminary data. Salary costs rose by an annual 8.3% in the April-June period, while other labour costs increased 9.4% on the year, NSI said in a statement. Hourly labour costs rose the most in construction - by 10.5% on the year, followed by industry and services, with annual increases of 10% and 7%, respectively. In terms of economic activities, the highest growth rate, of 14.9%, was recorded in the information and communication segment, followed by administrative activities with a 12.7% rise.
