Bulgaria's first-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 1.2% on the year and edged up 0.3% on the quarter, the National Statistics Office (NSI) said on Wednesday.
The country's GDP totalled 16.097 billion levs ($11.2 billion/8.2 billion euro) at current prices in the first quarter, NSI said in a statement.
Gross value added in the Bulgarian economy amounted to 13.8 billion levs at current prices in the January-March period.
Agriculture contributed 2.9% to the gross value added in the economy, down by 0.9 percentage points compared to the same quarter a year earlier. The share of services rose to 64.4% from 63.3%, while that of the industrial sector declined by 0.2 percentage points to 32.7%.
