Bulgaria's consolidated budget showed a deficit of 874 million levs ($620 million/447 million euro) in the first quarter of 2014, compared to a gap of 796 million lev gap a year earlier, finance ministry figures showed.
Consolidated budget revenue in the January-March period stood at 6.575 billion levs, while spending amounted to 7.1 billion levs, data posted on the finance ministry website indicated.
Bulgaria closed last year with a budget deficit of 1.45 billion levs, equivalent to 1.8% of the country's projected gross domestic product.
