Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has praised the caretaker government for successfully organizing a smooth transition to a new Cabinet.
Plevneliev presented Monday an evaluation of the term in office of the caretaker government.
He pointed out that the ministers had proved that a lot could be achieved within a short period of time, provided that one acted with professionalism.
Bulgaria’s President, as cited by the Focus news agency, announced that the caretaker government had adopted key measures in the sectors of energy, healthcare, and justice.
Plevneliev noted that the interim Cabinet had prepared a plan for the restoration of the suspended payments under EU operational programs, introduced legal changes applicable to EU funds, and started developing a law on EU funds management.
He added that Bulgaria’s Partnership Agreement with the European Commission for the 2014-2020 period had entered into force during the term in office of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki.
