Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy has signed a 4.4 million levs ($2.6 million/2.2 million euro) deal with local IBL Bulgaria for the supply of spare parts manufactured by Germany's Stahl-Armaturen Persta, the plant said on Monday. The deal was signed on July 4, NPP Kozloduy said in a notice.IBL Bulgaria submitted the only offer in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract.Established in 1993, IBL Bulgaria is an official distributor of steel valve makers Stahl-Armaturen Persta, Wouter Witzel and Norgren.NPP Kozloduy remained with two operational units of 1,000 MW each, Units 5 and 6, after Bulgaria closed down four older units of 440 MW each to address the nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to the country's accession to the bloc in 2007.
