Bulgaria's January jobless rate rose by 0.5 percentage points from the previous month to 11.9%, the Employment Agency said.
A total of 391,683 unemployed were registered with the agency's offices at the end of last month, up by 15,913 from December, the government agency said in a statement.
The number of people who found a job in January totalled 21,874, up by 9,662 from a year earlier, while job vacancies amounted to 25,000 last month.
In January, the biggest number of job vacancies, 2,511, was reported in the manufacturing sector. Trade followed with 1,396.
Bulgaria, which joined the European Union in 2007, has a population of 7.33 million.
