Bulgaria's Jobless Rate Rises to 11.4% at End-2012

Bulgaria's jobless rate reached 11.4% at the end of 2012, the Employment Agency said.

A year ago the agency said the unemployment rate in the country stood at 10.4% at the end of 2011.

The jobless rate in December 2012 inched up by 0.1 percentage point from the previous month, the agency said in a statement.

A total of 375,770 jobless Bulgarians were registered with unemployment offices at the end of December, up by 3,648 from the end of the previous month.

The number of people who found a job in December totalled 14,820, up by 5,824 from a year earlier, while job vacancies amounted to 15,200 last month.

In December, the biggest number of job vacancies, 1,105, was reported in the manufacturing sector. Trade followed with 894.
