Bulgaria's jobless rate rose to 11.1% in January from 10.4% at the end of December, official data from the government's Employment Agency showed.
A total of 365,995 unemployed were registered with unemployment offices at the end of January, up from 327,270 at the end of last year, the agency said in a statement on Thursday.
The number of people who found a job in January totalled 12,212, up by 3,216 from the end of December. Job vacancies stood at 7,411 in the first month of the year, up by 1,981 from a month earlier.
Bulgaria, which joined the European Union in 2007, has a population of 7.36 million. The country's official average unemployment rate was 10.1% at the end of last year, below the government's target of 10.5%.
