Bulgaria's Jobless Rate Edges up to 10.8% in Sept

Bulgaria’s September jobless rate edged up by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month to 10.8%, the country’s Employment Agency said.
A total of 354,563 unemployed were registered with the agency’s offices at the end of last month, up by 3,125 from August, the agency said in a statement.
The number of people who found a job in September totalled 23,526. Job vacancies amounted to 13,523 last month, up by 1,591 from a month earlier.
In September, the biggest number of job vacancies was reported in the public sector.
Bulgaria, which joined the European Union in 2007, has a population of 7.3 million.
