Bulgaria’s Jobless Rate Edges Down to 11.2% in May

Bulgaria’s May jobless rate edged down by 0.4 percentage points from the previous month to 11.2%, marking a decline for a third month in a row, according to data of the country’s Employment Agency.
In annual terms the rate went up by 0.2 percentage points, the government agency said in a statement.
A total of 366,604 unemployed were registered at the agency’s offices at the end of last month, down by 13,881 from April.
The number of people who found a job in the first five months of the year totalled 115,212, up by 24,865 from a year earlier. Job vacancies in the primary labour market came in at 64,000, up by 4,500 compared with last year. The National Plan for Employment has provided 44,752 jobs.Bulgaria has a population of 7.33 million.
