Bulgaria’s Jan Industrial Output Falls 3.6% Y/Y, Sales Rise 3.4% Y/Y

Bulgaria's January industrial output fell by a provisional 3.6% on the year, following a 0.1% annual increase in December, while industrial sales went up by an annual 3.4%, after a revised annual increase of 0.2% in the previous month.

January's industrial output in the country fell by a provisional 0.6% month-on-month after falling by a revised 1.0% in December, data of the statistics office indicated on Wednesday.

The industrial sales fell by a monthly 4.9% in the first month of 2012 after decreasing by a revised 5.4% in December.

The highest monthly decrease in both the industrial output and sales was registered in the mining sector, by 7.6% in output and by 16.7% in sales volume.
