Wednesday, 11 January 2017
In 2017, Bulgaria's Investments Agency is preparing to pour 456 million levs in the realization of 25 projects in the IT sector.
The work on these projects started in 2016, but some of them have not been certified yet, due to clumsy bureaucracy.
When completed, the projects will open about 5,700 new job positions.
Last year, the agency facilitated the implementation of 24 projects worth 389 million levs. They will create over 4,700 new jobs across the country.
Back in 2015, the Bulgarian Investments Agency had 12 big, certified projects worth 189 million levs.
"All of the projects that the agency has backed are viable, competitive and, most importantly – profitable. They have helped to make Bulgaria's economy more competitive and reduce unemployment in the country," the agency's Director, Stamen Yanev, told Bloomberg TV Bulgaria.
In his words, the Bulgarian government should work to create a more favorable economic climate for business startups.
