Bulgaria's gross foreign debt totalled 36.423 billion euro ($46.8 billion) at the end of July, up from 35.846 billion euro at the end of 2011, the central bank said.
At the end of July, Bulgaria's gross foreign debt was equivalent to 92.1% of the gross domestic product (GDP) projected for 2012, the central bank said in a statement on Thursday.
Bulgaria's long-term foreign debt was 26.923 billion euro and the short-term debt totalled 9.499 billion euro at the end of July.
Bulgarian banks' external debt fell to 5.61 billion euro at the end of July, compared with 5.65 billion euro at the end of last year. It was equivalent to 14.2% of the GDP.
