Bulgaria's Gross Foreign Debt Falls to 37.16 Bln Euro at End-Jan

Bulgaria's gross foreign debt totalled 37.16 billion euro ($48.1 billion) at the end of January, down from 37.59 billion euro at the end of 2012, the central bank said.

At end-January, Bulgaria's gross foreign debt was equivalent to 91% of the gross domestic product (GDP) projected for 2013, the central bank said.

Bulgaria's long-term foreign debt was 26.85 billion euro and the short-term debt totalled 10.3 billion euro at the end of January.

Bulgarian banks' foreign debt totalled 6.3 billion euro at the end of January, 2.1% lower compared with the end of last year. It was equivalent to 15.5% of GDP.
