Bulgaria's Gross Foreign Debt Falls to 35.1 Bln Euro at End-Feb

Bulgaria's gross foreign debt totalled 35.08 billion euro ($46.17 billion) at the end of February, down from 35.38 billion euro at the end of 2011, the central bank said.

At the end of February, Bulgaria's gross foreign debt was equivalent to 88.1% of the gross domestic product (GDP) projected for 2012, the central bank said in a statement on Wednesday.

Bulgaria's long-term foreign debt was 25.19 billion euro and its short-term debt totalled 9.89 billion euro at the end of February.

Bulgarian banks' foreign debt amounted to 5.48 billion euro at the end of February, down by 162 million euro from the end of 2011. It was equivalent of 13.8% of the projected GDP.
