“Bulgaria’s export to Romania topped the record-high1.893 billion euros in 2015,” said Bronislav Denev, Chairperson of the Commercial and Economic Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bucharest, Romania, speaking for Radio FOCUS.
He explained that there was an increase in the sectors of food industry, mineral oils and fuel, automobiles and plastic products.
“Last year breaks a record in terms of the trade-economic relations between Bulgaria and Romania. There is 8.35% growth compared with 2014.
The import, on the other hand, amounts at around 1.786 billion euros, reporting a slight increase of 0.2%.
As a whole, the merchandise exchange is of around 3.679 billion euros. This 1.893 billion euros is realised by 2,036 Bulgarian companies,” Bronislav Denev explained.
“We should note that over the past years there has been some great dynamics and variety in terms of the groups of goods and products that were a subject of the merchandise exchange between Bulgaria and Romania,” Mr Denev commented further.
The expert also added that there was a 4.1% increase in the number of Romanian tourists in Bulgaria, as nearly 1 million tourists from the neighbouring country spent their holiday in Bulgaria.
