Bills for hot water and heating should go down across Bulgaria starting April 01, energy regulator KEVR has said.
The state agency, whose abbreviation stands for Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, is making its new proposal in relation to a forthcoming drop in gas prices by nearly 23% from next month.
The decrease in prices for heating utility services will vary across the country under KEVR's proposal, with a minor drop for big heating utilities such as the ones in Sofia and Plovdiv (the country's biggest cities).
In contrast, it will be more notable in the northern Bulgarian cities of Pleven (15%), Razgrad and Vratsa (11%) and Veliko Tarnovo (9%), as well as the Black Sea port cities of Varna and Burgas (5%).
KEVR also proposes a 3% in prices in the capital Sofia.
The idea is yet to be discussed within the commission.
