A Davos World Economic Forum global competitiveness report reads that Bulgaria is improving its position in world economy, climbing from 54th to 50th position, over one year, in the list of 138 countries included in the report. The principal factors behind this are technological readiness, macroeconomic stability, the labour market and the advance of businesses. Since 2011 Bulgaria has climbed from 74th to 50th position, leaving behind a number of EU countries like Slovenia, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia. Switzerland, Singapore and USA are still the most competitive countries globally.
