The average monthly salary in Bulgaria rose by 3.6% month-on-month to 691 levs ($479/353 euro) in December, the National Statistics Institute said on Friday.
In the fourth quarter of last year the average monthly salary increased by 10.4% compared to the fourth quarter of 2009, the statistics office said on its website.
The highest annual increase in the average monthly salary in the three months through December, by a third, was registered in the information and communication sector.
In the fourth quarter the average monthly salary in the public sector grew by an annual 6.0%, and in the private sector it was up by 12.7% year-on-year.
