Bulgaria's construction output dropped by 10.3% month-on-month in December, registering the biggest monthly decrease among all EU member states, Eurostat's preliminary data showed.
On an annual basis, construction output in Bulgaria was 15.1% lower in December, ranking the country as the member state with the third biggest decline after Poland and Portugal, whose production in the construction sector was down by an annual 23.7% and 18.2%, respectively, Eurostat said in a press release on Tuesday.
Construction output in the EU fell by 2.7% on the month and was 8.5% lower on the year in December. In the euro zone it went down by a monthly 1.7% and dropped by 4.8% from a year earlier.
In December, production in construction fell in six and rose in eight member states compared with a month earlier, while on an annual basis, it posted a decline in twelve countries and rose only in Sweden and Spain.
