The average monthly salary in Bulgaria rose by 4.0% month-on-month to 752 levs ($509.7/384.5 euro) in December, the National Statistics Institute said.
In the fourth quarter of 2011 the average monthly salary increased by 8.7% compared to a year earlier, to 727 levs, the statistics office said in a statement.
In the three months through December the average monthly salary in the public sector grew by an annual 4.2%, while in the private sector it was up by 10.5%.
The highest annual increase in the average monthly salary in the fourth quarter, by 13.4%, was registered in the education sector.
