Bulgaria's Chimimport Lifts Q1 Cons Net Profit

Bulgarian diversified group Chimimport said on Thursday that its consolidated net profit excluding minority interest rose to 40.4 million levs ($23.3 million/20.7 million euro) in the first quarter of 2019 from 32.4 million levs in the like period of 2018.Chimimport's insurance revenue grew to 160.2 million levs in January-March from 153.3 million levs in the comparable period of last year, while expenses for insurance activities increased to 151.8 million levs from 148.6 million levs, Chimimport said in a bourse filing.Net interest income amounted to 40.2 million levs in the first three months of the year, up from 36.9 million levs the year before.
