Bulgaria’s Business Sentiment Index Grows in Jan

Bulgaria’s business sentiment index grew by 4.6 percentage points in January from the previous month after dropping 3.4 percentage points in December, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said.
The industrial sub-index in January increased 5.4 percentage points on the month and the sub-index in construction went up 6.6 percentage points. Entrepreneurs from both sectors have more optimistic expectations regarding the business situation in their sector, NSI said in a statement.
The retail sub-index in January increased by 1.4 percentage points from last month due to the improved retailers’ expectations about the business situation of their companies over the next six months.
The business climate gauge in the services sector went up by 3.7 percentage points month-on-month in January. Managers said they do not expect a hike in prices over the next three months.
